The Flag of Sri Lanka
The Sri Lanka flag must be one of the most interesting national flags around.
The
background of Sri Lanka flags are yellow with two inset panels; the smaller panel
on the hoist side has two vertical sections of equal sized bands of green, on
the hoist side and orange beside; the other larger panel is of a dark red rectangle
with a yellow stylised lion holding a sword, and there is a yellow bodhi tree
leaf in each corner with the tips of the leaves at 45 degrees. The yellow background
field appears as a border around the edge of the entire flag and vertically extends
between the two panels.
We apologise for the repetition of some place or proper names with different
