Being just north of the Equator, Sri Lanka has almost equal hours of daylight and darkness;
with sunset around 18:00 (6 pm)
and sunrise around 06:00 (6 am)

Sri Lanka time is Greenwich Mean Time (GMT) plus (+) Five Hours: Thirty Minutes (05:30)

The Time zone is known as Sri Jayawardenepura - Sri Jayawardenepura in the Kotte Municipal Council Area is the administerative capital and parliament of Sri Lanka.
